Heirs of Our Lutheran Choral Heritage
As much as we favor the great Lutheran composers of the 16th-18th centuries, the Lutheran choral tradition is not just a thing of the past. Lutherans today, inspired by God’s Word and the great hymn writers and composers who have come before us, continue to write hymn texts, tunes, settings, and compositions for the glory of God and the edification of the Church. This page features more recent choral composers and hymn writers who have kept the tradition alive. Who knows what posterity will think of the things on this page? Whatever the case may be, our hope is that this page inspires you to take part in our living Lutheran choral tradition, perhaps singing something you find here, perhaps writing or composing something yourself.
